Resources

  • Full plant community

The dataset contains the full plant communities (including both native and non-native species) sampled in the 180 study sites. Rows are sites and columns are plant species. Cells contain the numerical values of the extended Braun-Blanquet coverage classes (e.g., https://doi.org/10.1658/1100-9233(2007)18[413:HRITMO]2.0.CO;2). Sites IDs are composed by City_UGStype + Values orthogonal gradient + replicate number: - City: 3 levels, GE = Geneva, ZH= Zurich, LG = Lugano - UGStype: 5 levels, Al = Allotments, Ga = private gardens, Es = green areas in residential estates, Pa = parks, Ru = ruderal sites. - Orthogonal gradient: Landscape urbanization class + Local structural diversity class. 4 combinations: HH, HL, LH, LL. H =high, L = Low - Replicate, numeric. 1-3

  • Native plant community

The dataset contains the native plant communities sampled in the 180 study sites. Rows are sites and columns are plant species. Cells contain the numerical values of the extended Braun-Blanquet coverage classes (e.g., https://doi.org/10.1658/1100-9233(2007)18[413:HRITMO]2.0.CO;2). Native species are considered as thosw whose natural distribution ranges are within continental Europe, following (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.dib.2021.107243) Sites IDs are composed by City_UGStype + Values orthogonal gradient + replicate number: City: 3 levels, GE = Geneva, ZH= Zurich, LG = Lugano UGStype: 5 levels, Al = Allotments, Ga = private gardens, Es = green areas in residential estates, Pa = parks, Ru = ruderal sites. Orthogonal gradient: Landscape urbanization class + Local structural diversity class. 4 combinations: HH, HL, LH, LL. H =high, L = Low Replicate, numeric. 1-3

    Native plant community
  • Non-native plant community

The dataset contains the non-native plant communities sampled in the 180 study sites. Rows are sites and columns are plant species. Cells contain the numerical values of the extended Braun-Blanquet coverage classes (e.g., https://doi.org/10.1658/1100-9233(2007)18[413:HRITMO]2.0.CO;2). Native species are considered as those whose natural distribution ranges are outside continental Europe, following (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.dib.2021.107243). They include invasive species and exotics. Sites IDs are composed by City_UGStype + Values orthogonal gradient + replicate number: City: 3 levels, GE = Geneva, ZH= Zurich, LG = Lugano UGStype: 5 levels, Al = Allotments, Ga = private gardens, Es = green areas in residential estates, Pa = parks, Ru = ruderal sites. Orthogonal gradient: Landscape urbanization class + Local structural diversity class. 4 combinations: HH, HL, LH, LL. H =high, L = Low Replicate, numeric. 1-3
