(2020), published in Natural Hazards Earth System Sciences. DATES ------- - Collected: 2007-12-01 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS ------------------ The following institutions contributed to finance this dataset: - WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ------------------------ - Version: 1.0 - Type: dataset (dataset) - Language: en - License: wsl-data - Location: undefined DATA RESOURCES ---------------- - data set (update) (None): This is the same data set as uploaded originally, except for the following three additional columns, which are required to replicate the respective classification of ECT results: *depthCriteriaDecisive_ectStabOrig*, *depthCriteriaDecisive_ectStabWinkler*, *depthCriteriaDecisive_ectStabNew*. These columns have the following values: - 1 if the depth criteria as defined in the paper was decisive for rating the ECT result with stability class 4 - 0 if the depth of the fracture plane was not decisive for the stability classification In addition, the stability class has been recoded for: - *ectStabOrig* from [1, 2] to [1, 4] - *ectStabWinkler* from [1, 2, 3] --> [1, 2.5, 4] to be fully in line with the stability classes used in the paper. - data set (text/csv): The data set contains the following information. For details, refer to the publication: ##Variables## - unique identifier for the snow pit location (profileID) - unique identifier for the ECT stability test (stabTestID) - ECT stability classifications -- orginal (ectStabOrig) -- Winkler and Schweizer (ectStabWinkler) -- new (ectStabNew) - ECT results -- lowest number of taps (ectScoreMin) for the decisive propagation -- propagation - slope stability information (slopeStability 0 = stable, 1 = unstable) - RB stability class - forecast avalanche danger level (forecastDangerLevel) CONTACT PERSON ---------------- Frank Techel (WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF, Davos, Switzerland), mail: techel@slf.ch
