The dataset contains a subfolder for each experiment named [date]_[time]_m. Each experiment subfolder contains four files: SMP Profiles ************ A zip file named smps_detrended.zip containing each SMP profile as a txt file. The SMPs are named A_B_C_D_E_F_detrend.txt where A: individual four-digit SMP number B: Date as YYYYMMDD C: Timestamp as HHMMSS.SSS D: Position in the streamwise direction the the wind tunnel E: Position in the cross-stream direction in the wind tunnel F: Location identifier. 'ts' for (main) test section, 'os' for opposite side (other straight section) and 'out' for outside the channel Surface depths ************** A txt file named [date]_[time]_m_surfacedepths.txt This file has two columns and contains the filename and the surfacedepth in mm for each SMP. The surface depth is the location of the snow surface in the SMP profile. SMP groups ********** A txt file named [date]_[time]_m_groups.txt Usually several SMPs were acquired "at the same time", i.e. at the start of an experiment or after a wind period. This file specifies which SMPs belong together. SMP categories ************** An excel file named [date]_[time]_m_smp_categories.xlsx This table contains the four-digit SMP numbers of measurements in different categories. These are: neglect_smp: Do not use this SMP for analysis. There was a problem during the measurement neglect_depth_history: Do not use the depth data of the Microsoft Kinect for this SMP initial: SMP acquired at the start of the experiment no_drifting: SMP acquired after wind periods without drifting snow. No drifting snow during any previous wind period with_water: SMP acquired after a wind period where a water bowl was placed in the wind tunnel first_drifting: SMPs acquired after the first wind period with drifting snow no_wind_after_drifting: SMPs acquired after a measurement period without wind after there had been drifting snow in a previous wind period no_drifting_after_drifting: SMPs acquired after a wind period without drifting snow after there had been drifting snow in a previous wind period luv: SMPs acquired on the windward side of an obstacle in the test section lee: SMPs acquired on the leeward side of an obstacle in the test section neglect_last_period_data: The meteo data in the last previous wind period is wrong or not available neglect_all_previous_periods_data: The meteo data in any of the previous wind periods is wrong or not available There are two more SMP categories for experiments from 2016: erosion: SMPs that were acquired after there had been only erosion deposition: SMPS that were acquired after there had been deposition
