The experiments were designed as follows: ----------------------------------------- - three sample classes were examined ('ice beads poured', 'ice beads tapped', 'RG snow') - samples were prepared, and sintered - the sintering time was varied. - unconfined compression tests were performed of several samples per sample class and sintering time. ==> acquired data: force-displacement-curve (.txt) - computed tomography (CT) images were taken of some of the samples, before compression. ==> acquired Data: 3D grey images (.aim) All samples were sintered, compressed and CT-scanned at a temperature of (-10 +/-1)°C The "Data"-folder contains two subfolders ("Compression_Experiments", "CT_images") for the data of compression tests and CT scans. In both folders, the data is first sorted by the sample classes (e.g. "ice_beads_poured") and sintering time (e.g. "5d") The "Data_structure.csv" file in the "Data"-folder lists the experiments and the corresponding CT images. Data: - Experiment: - sample class: - sinterin time: - files ------------------------------------------------- Compression experiments, Force-displacement data: ------------------------------------------------- Uniaxial, unconfined, displacement-controlled compression experiments were performed on cylindrical samples (diameter = 33.6mm, height = 14 mm). The constant displacement was recorded and the vertical force on the sample (sample was mounted on force measurement device). The compression file consists of a 36-line header: - line 0 - line 24: not filled in. - line 24 - line 35: specification of the compression - vertical velocity = 10 mm/s (ft_velocity_z) - sampling rate 10000 Hz (ft_sampling_rate) -line 36: measured parameters ==> "dx" : vertical displacement ==> "Fz" : vertical force --------- CT scans: --------- voxel size = 0.018 mm
